Portrait Photography can be a lot of fun especially if you get creative with locations props or poses. It's very similar to glamour photography in the sense of attempting to create an image of the person in a flattering composition. "Contemporary portrait photographers strive not only to capture a person's likeness, but also the person's mood and thoughts in an instant in time." I like this quote and I'd take it even a bit farther and say I do my best to attempt to capture the subject's personality as much as possible. I go out of my way to make my subjects comfortable and ask them what sort of images they'd like to see themselves in. I find that the best images are when I have encouraged someone to just be themselves and act silly if they want to. In most cases I'd prefer to capture the person as they are instead of impose my own concepts on them.
